i am 43 and have not had a period since april. my tubes are tied. i have been told that my iron is a 8 and i am currently taking iron pills. i am have further testing completed and have been prescribed medicine to make my cycle start, however, i would like to have more testing as to what could be the cause of this. it had been normal up until the time it stopped.

No, but your body needs more iron because your period drains you of it. Thats why they invented One-A-Day +Iron for women.

No, your period will stop your iron. If you have low iron and no period, you really need to see a doctor right away.

no, you'll just become anemic which will leave you very weak and tired, and quite possibly sick from a lowered immune function. try one of those new kinds of birth control pills or shots that basically get rid of your period, or make them very light.

sometimes it does, but yes for the most part it slows down your menstrual cycle
