Thank you for your help, if you live a good question I will choose you as my best answer.

Sorry YourDreamDoc, but I have to disagree. An essay that has to do with 9/11 is not an analytical essay. As an English teacher's assistant, if I was to read an essay about 9/11, I'd like to know how it has impacted you. My suggestion would be to open up with your personal experience of 9/11 and then collectively reflect on how it has impacted America as a whole.
Some questions to consider:
What were your first thoughts after hearing about 9/11?
How did it change the way you viewed others?
Also, most people don't remember what they eat for breakfast everyday, but on a day like 9/11, you remember every single detail. If you want to discuss the government's response and the security issues, you can attack this essay from a political point of view. If you were to do this, you should look up the Patriot Act. Also, 9/11 can be compared with the Pearl Harbor attack. For example, after Pearl Harbor, all people with Japanese ancestry on the west coast were interned. For 9/11, the Patriot Act was passed giving the government more authority. An issue of privacy vs security.

The 9/11 attack was the most sudden and sad events of that year. Many lost loved ones and friends. So if the attacks did not happen what would life be like today? Would world leaders be fretting over teh safety of the people or would life be more relaxed? My essay covers thes poinys and more.

You can broach the subject from personal, social, national angle.
Your own reaction to what is happening in the world and why it all happened? How can such things be prevented?...

When writing stuff like that.. keep your opinion in the middle.. or you wlll be seen as too left or too right...

You don't know your professor or teach, he / she could be leaned to liberal or conservative..

So, play it safe, make it as third opinion.
