This is my question since there is so much hate in the political forum from both sides (myself as well). But I have to say, one of my best friends is liberal and we know how to disagree, and it's fine. One of my best friends is also Gay. I ask this because, if you are a man, and saw me walking down the street, not to be conceited, but guaranteed you would check me out, unless you were gay... and my question to you is and when i say you, i mean you crazy far left liberals, if you found out i was a republican... would that change your opinion or would it matter in the end? And to you guys in general, does it matter? I have to say for me not really, unless you are REALLY over the top like some that i've seen on here, like asking if you'd piss on the president's grave. That's just a bit horrid. opinions :) i love this place :)

sorry but beachbum just left a bad taste in my mouth. YOu dont even KNOW me. I'm a really good person with a great heart. I volunteer at the hospital in the NICU rocking babies for their drugged out moms, I volunteer at homeless shelters for the people that want to live on the streets, and when I have time I even volunteer at the humane society. I love my family, my friends, and God and for you to say something so ignorant just pisses me off.

I know a few liberals I like - we just don't talk about politics, and I know some conservatives I can't stand. I tend to get along with everyone, and I let them have there say; however, that doesn't mean I agree with there leftist ideology. And if you were walking down the street, I'd sure as hell check you out! I like girls.

I certainly wouldn't judge. Lord knows I'm opinionated enough, so there's no reason somebody else shouldn't be too. The only rub comes when people can't back what they "believe." The fact that we would have differeing opinions is of itself nothig. To not be able to find a way to discuss our differences openly and civily is something else altogether. Now I admit, most of my friends are as liberal as I am, but that doesn't mean we don't keep a few conservatives around to spice up the mix.
The only time I've ever had a problem was at work. After a month of getting to know my coworkers one suddenly and vehemently derided some of the very things I hold true. This didn't bother me in and of itself. Rather it was the "I'm right because I say I am" attitude that turned me sour. I was litteraly told "I don't have to hear your arguement because I already know what you're going to say."
I'm Jewish and my two best friends in high school were Roman Catholic and Mormon, respectively. To this day the discussions the three of us had to 3AM were some of the best conversations on politics and religion I've had.

I have Democrat friends, we get along fine, we just dont talk politics, when we do it's all in fun. People are people.

Thankfully most the Dem's I know all say the same..If Hillary run's, they voting Republican, which is great, cause once you cross over to the Right side, you never go back and do WRONG again

Answerman and Beachbum are the living defination of the word "tolerant liberal"..Thats a whole differnt breed there.

Dont waste your breath explaining yourself to beachbum or most other liberals, and I do mean most, not all.All most know is Bush bad, Republicans bad..Robots..Sooo open- minded they are

Yes, because that means that they go along with what the Party is doing. Right now the Republicans are messing up this country so bad that anyone Republican should find a place and hide. It took someone like GWB to bring out what the Republican Party was all about. And the Republican Party sure doesn't care about the average American. That to me means that if you are Republican you stand for illegals, the war in Iraq, high unemployment, high gas prices, attacking Baghdad for no reason at all, lying to all Americans about weapons of mass destruction, and I could go on forever. That is how much Bush and his administration have messed up this country.

Absolutely.

When I meet a person and find out they are a republican, I know from that very second they are illiterate to political history.

I may still be a friend of the person but in answering your question, I do draw a judgment. One of my very best friends in college was as far religious right at you could get... we just decided to never discuss politics.

Edit Added: I honestly don't care what kind of 'taste' I left in your mouth. You ask a question and I gave you an honest answer then you want to be insulting... so, I ask you, who is the bigger person here? Me

Not inherently, unless the person cannot separate themselves as an individual from the group. If someone does nothing other than mindlessly repeat what a group says, any group, without thinking for themself, then that action does affect my opinion.

No. I have a few friends that have different political views than myself. The difference between them and the people on this site is that they are capable of holding an articulate and intelligent debate.

it all depends... if they can back up their opinions, then it's not that big of a deal... I do get annoyed by people who don't know either the facts, or why they believe something though...

but nobody's perfect...

more so as I get older, I'm not interested in someone I have nothing in common with, and to old to change myself or try to change another.

Yes, it would change my opinion of you. Repuglicans are not to be trusted and I would not put my trust in anything that you said. I realize that all repuglicans are not that way but there are enough that I do not trust any repuglicans in any way.
