I'm wondering what most people currently think on the abortion issue. I'd like your opinion.

I have a strong dislike of abortion on the basis that it is the murder of a defenseless human being. No matter how you stack it up, it's homocide.

Please reply with your thoughts.

That is something only God can answer because only he knows when a fertilized embryo is considered a human being with a soul.

I think it is wrong. If death is the sessitation of heartbeat and brain function...then the opposite would be life. Most women do not know they are even pregnant when the heart has started beating at 4-6 weeks. By week 10 they have fingers and toes and a developing nervous system. Who knows what pain they feel when aborted. I had a baby at 32 weeks. Some abortions are still being done at that age. My son is perfect, completely developed and could breathe on his own. How can anybody see a baby that has been aborted and not call it murder. I am a paramedic and I worked for one day at a abortion clinic as required by my school. I saw several types of abortions. It broke my heart to see the things I saw.

Gulp. After reading your question, I almost passed it by. I almost passed it by because you stated you have a strong dislike, and therefore are biased. To me, biased people often turn a blind eye and ear to others of differing opinion. Then I read that this question is for a school poll assignment. That stopped me in my cyber tracks.

By stating your thoughts in such a manner, you will attract folks of your point of view, and repel folks who have a differing opinion...as you almost did meee. Thus you are tipping the poll in your favor.

Matilda now leaps upon her soapbox. I think abortion after the first trimester is murder, but before that..if the fetus will be born to a woman who totally does not want the child, but will not release it for adoption, then that child will have a hellish life and probably turn to crime and mayhaps become a mass murderer

If the mother is on drugs, and alcohol, and will not stop snorting, drinking, injecting, then yes, in the first trimester, I think she should be allowed to abort...same as a rape victim, and a mother whose fetus has some sort of disease or deformity.

There are sooo many people living today, and our resources are dwindling fast, and crime is rising, I know I would rather be aborted, than be born into a family which could less about me and would not supply me with what I needed to break free of such an environment in later life.

Now I will hop off my soap box and give you a hug. No matter which side of a controversial topic we are on, we are first of all humans, and should be able to disagree with each other and be treated with dignity.

Good luck.

If there's any questions over it being right or wrong, erring on the side of caution would make sense.

If it's not not murder (yes, a double negative, no I'm not a redneck), then why would choicers say they want less abortions and it's an agonizing decision for women?

For all the pseudo feminist speach around the topic, women will never liberate themselves by stepping over the corpses of murdered babies. To paraphrase Mother Teresa, it's a poverty that a child must die so you can live as you wish.

I know it in my heart to be wrong. It's that simple. And I'm agnostic, if that matters.

I believe that anyone who wants to have an abortion should be able to have one. Asking a woman to carry a pregnancy that she doesn't want places an undue burden on her.
If so many people are "pro-life", why don't you take in a homeless person for 9 months? That would be less invasive than having someone live inside your BODY for 9 months.
I think a lot of the people who are "pro-life" just want women to be punished for having sex. They say things like, "if she didn't want to get pregnant, she should have used birth control..." That's all well and good, but do you really want to punish someone by making them carry an unwanted pregnancy?

Abortion is wrong by almost any ones morals.

But legally, unless the heart is beating or the brain is active, it 's not murder.

So as long as those two life signs haven't started, it's not the governments place to stop abortions.

Abortions are ****** up and I'm not saying you won't go to hell if there is such a place, I'm just saying the government is not responsible for policing our morals.

Well I don't really like abortion, but I am definitely pro-choice. I think that a girl should have the option of having an adoption, it's her body, her choice. I definitely think it should be legal in every state but have limitations. I think that it should be ok during the first trimester, or if the baby is conceived from rape or incest. I just don't believe that life starts at conception. But that's just my take on the issue.

The most defenseless being in the world is the unborn child. At the moment of conception the cells begin to grow and form. This is life. The needless destruction of this tiny, helpless, life is one of the biggest crimes against humanity in the history of mankind. And the fact that some pinhead judges had contorted the constitution in order to make it legal is down right appalling.

No one that I know is "Pro Abortion." When you see that term, you know it is the Pro Lifers propagandizing. Also, if one is going to be Pro Life, one has to be Pro Life for everything. For example, they can't be Pro Life and Pro death penalty.

I am Pro Choice. I don't like abortion and I hope that I will never have to make that decision. But sometimes difficult decisions present themselves and must be made. I would prefer that my husband and I decide what is best for our family and have the choice of going to a good medical facility to do what needs to be done rather than a back alley.

Outlawing abortion doesn't stop it. To think that is naive. Abortion has always existed; a woman just needed to know where to go or what herbs to use. My father was a police officer for 26 years. In that time, he had to transport two girls who had "back alley" abortions to the hospital. One had it done with a coat hanger, the other with a knife. My father is pro choice as well based on the horror he witnessed those girls go through because they had made a mistake. I don't think anyone supports abortion as a birth control method, but if we need to make that choice, that choice needs to remain ours to make.

Beyond media brain washing i have an opinion based on life.we base our liberties as humans upon a idea that human life is unique.
In the real worl of hard choices , our freedom of choice dies at conception if a unique life, we then ( if responsible) follow the path our choice has taken us for good or bad
it was our choice after all.

The womens sufferage movement of the 18 and 19th century
has used abortion rights to empower a minority view of world domination,, ,,,to that end these political animals called feminazi
have distorted the view of morality and duty to allow irresponsible people to kill the life they concieved,, in this way they have made a main stream diet of the rights of self and selfishness over humanity and the fortitude of sticking to the choices (good or bad) we have made as individuals and couples.

the seconday problem to the abortion /infanticide issue is the feminazi choice has religated men to drones of womens choices
and womens rights,,,,,,in essence men have been returned to a 4000 year old mother goddess/ magna mater society,,,,,where women are at the apex,

in closing abortion affects humanity in ways we will not understand as a world view for a centry or two.
my small glimpse comes from a messanic judæistic view.

we magnify the options of women to the final arbiter of life and death
we religate men and marrage partners ipotent in this process.
we kill the voiceless innocent
we affect humanity in ways that is not obviously apperant
we structure our social pecking order to adapt to this old and broken view of life so that we do not feel the impact of our deeds
