March 16, 1968 The massacre of My Lai, the men of Charlie Company, 11th Brigade, entered the village of My Lai. As the "search and destroy" mission unfolded it soon degenerated into the massacre of over 300 apparently unarmed civilians including women, children, and the elderly.

The closest films have come to this is the massacre at the end of Soldier Blue. Although it was a western and it was about the massacre of Naitive Americans it was meant to be about Viet Nam. This film has a chequered history as far as American censorship is concerned though which goes to show how uncomfortable a subject this is. It's far easier to object to other countries history's rather than your own

To the best of my knowledge, Hollywood has not made a movie about the My Lai massacre and is not likely to do so within the foreseeable future. I think that a truthful playing out of such an incident in a movie would be very hard on the psyche of most Americans. Rhetorically, how can you tell me that my corn-fed Ohio boy and his fellow soldiers just killed between 150-500 unresisting Vietnamese civilians and then sat down and had lunch

I think (but not sure) it might be touched upon in one of those Vietnam movies, like Platoon or Hamburger Hill or Full Metal Jacket.
