OutKast has been changing constantly ever since they released Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. None of their albums sound the same. Idlewild isn't as bad as the critics say, it is very good. The critics just need to open their minds and ears to real hip-hop. That's what people need to do, too. If people quit buying that 50 Cent crap, we can listen to real rap. Outkast is one of the few rap groups out there that I think can save the game from unoriginality. Other rappers such as Field Mob, Gnarls Barkley, etc. can save the game, too.

The only thing that can save the game is a new form of music...kinda what grundge rock did to pop music. Right now crap rap sells...so that is what they are going to keep producing. I personally think that Southernplayalistic...was one of the greatest rap albums of all time. I don't see many of these acts staying around for many years.

they are in it for the money....

It sounds like you like hip hop and not rap. I also lean towards hip hop. I think Rap is an awsome way for people to express themselves and OutKast is a great mix of a rapper, in Big Boi, and a hip hop artist, in Andre 3000. I like when rappers put some decent music behind their raps and get creative with hooks. so many "pure" rap fans hate this but it sounds like a more polished record than some jerk spitting into a can in a closet. I'm a huge Gnarls fan as well, same thing as Outcast good rapper, Cee lo, and good musician DJ, Danger mouse. Try Akon out, I just got his CD its really an enjoyable listen with a mix of booty chatter with some nice melodic tunes. So many people write rap off and say naw Rock is where its at or country or what ever there taste is, these people need to remember there are just as many bad artists in those genres as well. Rap isn't all about materialism and misogyny. Some good rappers in my CD wallet right now are Bubba Sparxxx, The Streets from the UK, Zro out of Houston the third coast, Jurassic five for that old school rhyme trading, Kanye because his music is so good even though hes a fake intellectual, Ice Cube the War Album it's the sh*t, Aesop rock and Atmosphere for that underground intellectual rap and of course some Jay-Z.

Outkast is the best rap group out there hands down. They seperate themselves so much from the crap rappers. You got Big Boi whose one of the most creative rappers out thereand andre 3000 as a rapper too, but tends to do more singing than rapping which is great because put them together and nothin compares. They dress differently from all rappers. They have creaive personalities. And by the way Andre 3000 is stickin with outkast thank god he got it back together. Im outy peace. O yea check out stankonia.com for updates on outkast and theres always outkast.com..

i saw idlewild last weekend and was blown outta my seat!!!! the movie was completely off the chain---andre & boi are eccentric, colorful geniuses-----the plot line was fabulous---the music was incredible.......i'm a huge huge fan of this movie as well as the group----they bring a little shumpin' shumpin to the table that's totally different from the others....they're not scared of taking risks by setting themselves apart from maintream--that's what i like

I guess.
but they are more, hip hop.
It would take something alittle more powerful, like a 2Pac or Biggie figure.
