Because her mother was a showgirl who feel in love with him. When she was pregnant, he left and she was born and raised on a MT ranch before they moved back to Vegas. She became a stripper at a club......she really wanted to be CSI person, but, because her mother never told her who her father was and there was really no money and she knew she could make money doing what her mother did years ago, she did that to earn her degree to actually be a cop and then a CSI'er. That is why.

Well, the same what the lady said above, but also miss willows did not know sam was her father until she did the comparable DNA testing for the case with the stripper vs the pair of cutting shears. Also, gary dourdan (cannot think of his character name off hand) has a gambling prob (like season 3 had that in it, i think), nick has claustrophobia like real bad after being buried alive and gill lost his father at 9 when his mother tried to wake gill's dad off the couch, she couldn't wake him up. Season 6 is coming out with a lot about the individuals, instead of just the crimes. I like 6 better than all of them so far, however they are leaving things a bit unattended it seems. Such as the case about the 11 people and the mass suicide... well.. they got ID's on three.. and the show ended lol.
I amd still waiting for sarah and gill to hook up :D
