I would like to know why some American's feel the need to become upset and complain about still hearing about the New Orleans crisis. No one want's to hear about the Hurricain Katrina effort and relief....everybody has something negative to say "why are they still talking about it, get over it." Yet no one get's tired of hearing about 9/11 and the dammed Sunami victoms! Hmmm, why is that?

Yes, I am saying it was probably due to the fact that most of the population was "black." And to address the other statement about the victoms raping children and shooting at helicopers... Yes that is a very ignorant and sad thing to do. However you have to realize that most of those people were nto even in their right minds, you sit somewhere where the tempature is swelterin hot with no food, no water no place to go...let's see how you act. People sat on top of there roofs for days and even weeks. The response to the hurricanine katrina victoms was soo slow it was sickning...i actually cries at the sight of this. They reffered to those people who are citezens of America as "Refugee's." They treated those people hirrible, they accused them of luding when trying to get food. They didn't provide them with food or water so what were they supposed to do?When they did finally decide to provide food & water they threw it into the infectious water for the victoms to fetch like fish! SICK!

because there has been a negative spin put on the new orleans leaders and FEMA leaders with Katrina. i am from there and lost most of my possessions and what people do not understand is that the people of new orleans can not even get insurance adjusters in to look at their property in many areas. people need to understand that political spin is a very powerful influence.

The only thing that I get mad about is when I hear the horrible stories from the volunteers that went to help. Everything I have heard from them is how they were mistreated and how demanding the victims were. I understand that those people had gone through a horrible tragedy and that is why so many people have done so much to help them. But I have only heard that the victims, for the most part, were ungrateful, unhelpful, and demanding of the help they were given. And if you are insinuating that people are uninterested because most of the population was black, well you are wrong. There were white, asian, hispanic, and many other races living in New Orleans that got wiped out as well..... you just didn't see that many of them or heard horrible stories about how they were treating people.

There are some New Orleans residents who make the whole lot of them look ignorant. In the days following Katrina, we saw news reports of shooting at relief helicopters, raping children in the superdome, and blaming the federal government for a state agency's lack of competency. Some of us are willing to help but would like to see some gratitude and social accountability in return.
