You should always be yourself and never be afraid to speak your mind... If he didnt like you for you than why did he marry you in the first place?

Sometimes. But most of the time you want to speak your mind. I find that with my spouse depending on whether or not I am in the argumentative mood I will - AND if Oprah is on, it is easier to just shut my mouth because sometimes it can turn into a full blown fight - no thanks - I'm watching my show. Plus, I am getting too old for that kind of fighting. But when you do speak your mind, because my spouse is much like yours, you have to be gentle, tactful and never say 'You' always say 'I feel', that way they won't feel threatened so that they get defencive. But never let someone walk on you. You are a smart human being with feelings and opinions that matter just like theirs.

Yes it is..... but..... is it the right thing to do??? ask your self, why is my spouse being difficult? do I have a need to be right all the time? what part do i play in my spouse being difficult? what can I do or stop doing to makes things NOT so difficult? Am i the cause? remember that it always takes two to have a problem because one have to be right and one has to appose. you have to make a choice to to be difficult or not its up too you

For some personalities, yes, but it is not in anyones best interest. No one knows what's best all the time. And everything is not important (so for many issues the person impacted the most should make the call). You guys should really see a pro. It will be much better at home.

It might be easier to give in, but it's certainly not better. I did just that for 20 years, and finally decided that I wasn't the sorry good-for-nothing, worthless person she said I was..... I started standing up for myself, and not giving in. The marriage didn't last long once I started doing that. So, don't give in unless you're in the wrong...then by all means , do!

if you keep giving in then you will want to leave eventually, so you must be able to speak your mind, but in a neutral way so as not to cause problems.

You can't hold everything in all of the time or you'll blow up and so will your marriage...not a good thing
