Well if your speaking of chemistry, that means the melting point of whatever you melting is too high to melt in your class. if your using a hot plate or burner that means that you dont have the right equipment to melt whatever.
If thats what you mean.

Once something reaches a melting point, it melts, Clear and simple.Anything beyond the melting point is meaningless.

It means that that particular element or compound has atoms that are closely packed together.
