Since how so many Republicans support the Iraq war, and the reasons why Bush started it....got a question for you...
Are you planning on joining the miltary anytime soon?
Or are you going to leave the fighting to someone else?
Don't feel bad if you want someone else to fight in you place, Dick Cheney-got 6 deferments to chicken out of Vietnam.

They support the war, they just don't support fighting the war themselves. Red blood is always spilled on a battlefield molded by blue blood. That's my take on it, anyway.

"The Civil War brought with it the first national conscription act; in March 1863. The original Act provided an exemption for anyone who could find a substitute for himself or provide a $300 commutation fee.
In Feb. 1864, the Act was amended to recognize only those conscientious objectors who were members of religious denominations whose rules and articles of faith prohibited armed service".
Maybe this is the real reason why so many republicans appear to be such fervent christians. They'd rather pay someone else to do the fighting for them, while they stand idly by and sing the praises of the lord, as the troops march into hell.

nope to old. but if push came to shove i will go. but i do work for veterans in my neighborhood for free, i do drop off care packages to the local VFW, i do admire and respect anyone who has served or does serve. that includes you. now why do i support this war. because peace comes with victory not appeasement. because a free and democratic Iraq is the most strategic move we can make. we are in the heart of the lion. because we let the people of Iraq down in 91. because Saddam and his sons were pure evil. to beat an enemy you must take away their will to fight. fUNny how our enemy uses the most powerful weapon in the world to do this. the media and the un.

enable's make sparkling some issues. Do you propose the conflict in on terrorism, reason it is the only rather conflict it is happening, or do you propose like the conflict on drugs or the conflict on way of life? To my awareness there is no "illigal" (you could study a thank you to spell so which you do no longer look as though an entire fool) conflict happening. yet i'm doing my section as an American citizen and a Veteran of the USA military in all those wars. you're component of the priority. what is going to you do to repair it?

First of all, the Senate declares war, and the Democrats, overwhelmingly voted to go along with it. It's a matter of public record. No statisticians to play with the numbers. Just Yea, Nay, or Abstain.
I served my time, already, and receive disability for a broken back. As someone who grew up dirt poor, with no chance at higher education beyond High School, please do us citizen-soldier veterans a favor, and knock it off with this crap!
Don't want to fight? Serve your country in a different capacity. Work the DoT, DoE, or teach... Being a public servant isn't a negative stigma. It's a badge of honor!

Because it's ok to send the lower middle class men and women over there but god forbid they actually step up to the plate and go fight for the war so so strongly believe in. I don't believe we are there for the right reasons, however I support our troops. There is a difference people. Just because you don't support the war doesn't mean you don't support our troops. Our men and women wouldn't be dying over there if it wasn't for the bush agenda.

I have paid my dues. 1968-69, Danang, Viet Nam - and you will never convince me that the people who ask questions such as yours weren't at least a good part of the reason we pulled out and consequently allowed so many innocent people to be slaughtered.
The United States and its noble cause was far better than many of the people who take it for granted. That is as true today as it was back in 1969.
I often wonder what their anti-war battle cry was then - Viet Nam has no oil.

I would have gone, but I was diabled enough after a car accident in 2000 that I could not serve.
I choose to fight the intellectual war at home. I constantly have to correct the record after liberals distort it. That is a fight I can wage war on.
