How very sad for u that u have a parent that cares so much about u that she makes sure u get to school w/o incident. 16 doesn't make you bullet-proof or abuction proof. You will be on your own soon enough. Take advantage of the mornings to talk with ur mom. I know of several 16 year olds whose mothers don't care where they sleep; if they graduate from school; or if they even received a meal that day. Yet these kids keep trying to do well in school. What if ur mom didn't walk u to school anymore not because she didn't want to but because she was no longer in your life. Show a lil appreciation.

Honey, people in their 20s and 30s get adult-knapped...You're still a kid technically and with all the Laci Peterson, Natalie Holloway type deals, I think mom is paranoid. I think by the time we reach teen years, parents don't have a life anymore anyway so they try to consume themselves with their kids life. She might want to secretly be back in highschool again and she feels that's the closest she'll get to it. It could be a number of reasons, and is there something you're not telling us, like have you gotten caught skipping school before, lol! But in your defense, I remember being 16 in the 12th grade and my mom would get out of her car in the afternoons and wait up under the belltower of my highschool using the excuse that it was too hot and she didn't want to run the AC. Bullshyt, I thought, she just wanted to see what boys were walking with me and talking to me. My dad never did that when he'd pick me up. Parents are put here to embarass the hell out of you, that's their jobs. Hopefully I won't do my daughter like that though.

What did you do that caused her to distrust you?
Or is your neighborhood a bad one or there have been problems with Perv's in the area?
Or maybe she has to pay fees or sign papers?
Maybe she would agree to you and a few friends walking together for safety sake.
Don't be embarrassed just act cool and like you are chillin and totally fine with it, If anyone says anything just ignore it or say something like " yeah parents are a trip". No one will make a big issue of it unless you do.

I hate it when that happens. It is embarrassing. My dad used to kiss me on the forehead before school in front of my friends and I was like 13 at the time.

did u try to talk to her in an adult and mature way? if u were whining or yelling, she won't listen, adn that'll make her want to walk with u more, kind of like a punishment i guess. maybe u can show to her that ur a mature young lady who can go to skool urself. do ur chores without having to be asked. ask ur mom if she needs anything. and if none of that works, look on the bright side, it's only one day! and maybe she can walk u halfway or something. i hope i helped

Perhaps she's trying to make sure that you get there.
Or maybe she's hoping that on the trip to school she can teach you not to talk like gutter scum in public. I wish her luck, but from the sound of it she ought to just give up. Moms are like that, the good ones anyway, they never give up, no matter how hopeless the case.

Yes I can see that would be embarrassing, but you here of so many young girls coming up missing, she just worries about you. maybe you can talk to her and come up with a way where it is not embarrassing for you, maybe she could walk way behind you or something like that.
PS: she loves you and cares what happens to you, don't you just love her for that.

And it's the worst thing that could ever happen to you because at your age everything seem so BIG! You'll miss it later, in about 10 years. Right now, it sucks. But you'll miss it.
