The doctors said it doesn't really serve a purpose. LIARS. Why else would it be there. It stores bile which helps break down certain foods, because the gall bladder isn't there bile is constantly dripping in your system. I had mine taken over a year ago and it sucks. What are the problems any of you are having now?

I have to say I have had many problems after they took my Gall Bladder out.
I had pain in my stomach for 2 months after giving birth to my 2nd son, after many visits to the doctor they discovered I had Gallstones, They said I should have it removed. They told me there was no long term affects on having it removed. So I had it removed. Now I suffer with the same pain I had before the surgery 3 years ago. plus I now have had ulcers, Acid Reflex, Chronic Gastritis, and something with my stomach that makes me have diarrhea with stomach acid in it. I create to much stomach acid, and from the Gastritis It is very painful. I have seen 6 doctors, they now just keep giving me different medication.. Hope yours gets better.. Good luck

I had my gallbladder taken out 20 years ago. I have had no problems at all because of it being gone. Gall bladder problems can be extremely serious. A friend recently had gallbladder surgery, and the surgeon discovered that her gallbladder had developed gangrene. If she had delayed surgery, she most likely would have died.

Talk to your doctor if you are still having problems. Your body should have adjusted to being without a gall bladder long before now.

Honestly, I'm not having any problems with digestion, but I did have a problem with the incision. It herniated and I had to have the hernia repaired and two meshes put in, which is a rather nasty procedure. You need to be careful about that, especially about not getting infection or having your hernia repair rupture again. I can't even remember when my gall bladder came out, but I think it was about 8 years ago.

Watch what you are eating. Without the gall bladder you cannot control the amoun of bile that is released. That means you could be diabetic thanks to low bile or you can have have high blood pressure which means not enough.

I can't eat some foods without it tearing my stomach up. I have acid reflux which I never had before, and still sometimes have the same problems I had when I had my gall bladder.
