Hiya im really sorry to hear that things are not too good for you and your fiance just now,is it because of work that your fiance is depressed? I can honestly sympathise with you because my husband is also currently suffering from depression and has been on and off for years. Can i just say first of all that you are being a brilliant partner;both loving and supportive, and i know its difficult and you feel like banging your head off a brick wall, but dont give up trying to persuade him to seek help,to resolve it before it gets any worse,i also suggest you take care of your own health too,as i used 2 put so much time on my husbands welfare that my own health suffered, you could email me and we could help each other through these tough times, take care, hope this helps in some way

It sound like he needs profesional help and a few AA meetings.

Only he can decide when he has hit rock bottom. Remember that you can not change his behavior, but you can change your own. Don't do for him what he should be doing for himself.Look up AA in the phone book and attend an alanon meeting, and see if the picture fits. for you. Good Luck. Grandma

drinking alcohol is the worst thing you can do when you are depressed. If he wants help he will stop drinking and go to a doctor. Depression and alcoholism are both diseases that won't go away no matter what you do or say.

Just give him some space to figure things out... maybe move out if you're living with him... he needs to get it together before you guys get married... that pressure will only make him worse. Let him know that drinking is self destructive and will only create more problems.
