The housing around the tire may be rubbing against the tire. or the wheel bearing gone to hell.

Have the front suspension checked, maybe you have a ball joint issue, or possibly something from the road has gotten lodged in a rotating part. It's not something to put off for very long.

Wheel bearing.

If it is louder when turning in one direction but not the other,
and nothing is rubbing on the tire,
it is a wheel bearing.

Sounds like your wheel bearing. You can do this yourself, not hard. Get book to show you how (ie: Chilton's). Buy grease too. $20. But you MUST fix VERY SOON, or you will end up with a MUCH more expensive problem.

brake shoes and roters...also get the wheel bearings checked. if you change the brake pads or shoes and your roters are bad in no time at all you will be replacing the pads and shoes again so if the roters are to bad to turn buy new ones before putting on the pads and shoes. check all the fluids in your car especially the power steering and brake fluid

lOOK AT THE SPLASHSHEILD ON THE RIGHT SIDE. And look to see if your brake dust shield is bent and hitting the rotor, or something. Could be something got picked up when you might have ran it over. Look under the car extra good to make sure.
