I would say it's a tie between the original TCM and Halloween. Both had such great atmosphere....especially TCM...and that is something that today's horror movies sorely lack.

The original F13 was lots of fun, as was Prom Night.

I like NOES when I was a kid but now I think it is mediocre and silly at time..though with some neat ideas.

I give Scream a lot more credit than many people do. It did lay the groundwork for the 'new style' of horror, which maybe isn't such a good thing but by itself it was a wonderfully neat movie.

Final Destination has a great premise but I preferred Part 2.

The other movies you list I either have not seen or think are average.

-Troy -3 hundred -Goodfellas -V For Vendetta -The Matrix -A Clockwork Orange -finished steel Jacket -2001: an area Odyssey -Blade Runner -Blood Diamond -the perfect hurricane -Batman starts off -The dark Knight i'm Legend stinks. The 70s version, The Omega guy merely owns it. had to get that out. BA: Fourth widespread western of all time BBA: The dark Knight is lots greater appropriate, Imo BA3: I enjoyed the remake of The Hills Have Eyes. This decade has in general stunk for Horror even with the undeniable fact that.

The original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is the best of those, with the first "Halloween" film a close 2nd.
