I encourage you to look into Montessori schools. They are a great choice for many different children. If you are not familiar with the Montessori concept...
Emphasis is placed on...
-Freedom for the child within the limits of the prepared environment
-Ordered learning exercises, which are self-correcting and motivate the child to active and concentrated participation.
-Self directed activities which nurture a child's individual needs and interests.
-Cultural awareness through contact with nature, science, the fine arts, literature and the history of mankind.
-Social growth through sharing and cooperation with peers, through developing respect for others' rights and personhood, through being introduced to diverse cultures.
Contact Montessori schools in your area to set up an observation. You can usually observe a class without distrupting the classroom. This will give you a clearer idea of Montessori is right for your child. Good Luck

Do you need a kindergarten or daycare? I used to work at Children's World Learning Center and they are a really good daycare. If you are talking about after-school care, they are the best too.
