I don't know! My teacher gave me extra credit on this stupid homework because I got a 67 on my review test. Please help me if you can!

OK, you are going to need to be a little more specific on that one. I think you are asking about multiplying a number that is a decimal by 10. If that is the case, you move the decimal point one place to the right each zero that is there. For example:

.003 x 10 = .03
.003 x 100 = .3
.003 x 1000 = 3

And so on

Do you mean such things as 10^.5? That would be "10 raised to the .5 power," and .5 = 1/2 - when 1/2 is the exponent, you're dealing with the square root. So, 10^.5 would be approximately 3.16, and so on.....

If you have 10^.3, then that "simplifies" to the 10th root of 10^3, as .3 = 3/10. You'll probably need to use a calculator for some of those questions.

Do you mean problems like

10^3 x 10^5?

If so, you just add the exponents.

10^3 x 10^5 = 10^8
