most Aussies are heartbroken over Steve Irwin's death.check out all the web sites & all the flowers & plants left at his zoo on the sunshine coast qld.I am depressed such a wonderful caring man has died.He was a real hero for all the wild life & was someone good for all to admire & be proud of.He did heaps of good work world wide.If animals were in trouble in a certain area he would buy the land.Who will do that now?

I know ALOT of people from Australia, and when I heard about Irwin,I called them all,and we weeped over the phone..lol.My friends in Australia feel like he was a hero.I've never seen anyone in the world who has the guts to do what Steve has done.He had two kids, one 8 year old daughter and a 2 year old boy.Imagine what It would have been like for his family...gosh...

No one views him as a national hero.
He was more of an annoyance & only the tree huggers will miss him.
I'm going to setup a fund for the protection of stingrays after this cruel act by steve irwin of ripping the barb off this poor stingrays tail.
If anyone else would like to donate money to this worthy cause please send it to the sydney harbour aquarium or seaworld.

certainly many different camps on this issue.......i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

Most Australians admired and loved him because he was identified with the Australian 'larrikin' (mischievous) personality.
I don't think there is anyone like him in the whole of Australia so he was one of a kind rather than a representative of the australian male.

i think all his fans are prolly really upset...and a little in shock still that he is gone... and also what i mean by all his fans means not only his fans that are in Australia but the fans that are all over the world too.
