My whole family acts like they are about to die when they see a bee. I've never got stung and don't even really notice them.

i can't STAND it when that happens... unless one is deathly allergic there is no earthly reason to freak out.... another reason i tend to be antisocial.... ppl and their mannerisms drive me crazy!

It's ironic that I have come upon this question because just yesterday I was with a friend at a greenery and we were leaving and I saw some bees flying around and remarked to her that I don't get all excited and feel like I have to run away when bees are around because as long as they don't land on me then I am OK.

I dont really bother the bee. But if it gets annoying then i will swat it to the ground when it is hovering. But i dont run around like a maniac.

Oh yeah, I have jumped out of our slow moving vehicle before and jumped into the lake while in our boat. When I was 7 or 8 coca cola came in tall glass bottles, and there was a wasp in mine, didn't see it and drank it!!!!! Did not swallow it, but it stung me quite a few times. AWFUL!!! That may have something to do with it. LOL

Bees can smell fear or anger in you and they will protect themselves if necessary.
If you remain calm and send out love vibes to them they won't hurt you. Just don't panic and go into a flap. That's the worst thing you can do.

Nah, I love critters like that. We've had a nest of Yellow Jackets living right over our front door for several months and none of them have even tried to sting us, though they do watch us closely as we go through the door. Check out the link below for some photos if you like...

no. A honey bee will not just attack you for no reason.
The bee is probably just checking you out.
Just leave it alone and she will fly off.
If you bat at the bee, then it may sting out of self defense.

My family keeps bees, so that'd be a no. Bees won't sting you unless they feel threatened.
