Understand my situation.
Which way is North?
When will the sun set?
How much time do I have to get fire/water/shelter?
Finding water is the thing that might keep me alive (or to the contrary, not finding water is the thing that will kill me quickest), so I'd make that my first job.
I'll be easiest to find if there's a smoke trail to me, so I'd build as big a fire as I could afford to maintain.
Then I'd sit. And wait for someone to find me.

To get off that damn island, STOP finding hatches in the ground and dicking around with relationships and messing in other peoples business. My first and only plan would be to get off the island in any way possible.
