You will probably get a bill from the doctor.

As long as you paid him all the money he was due already.

The check would have been issued from an insurance company I would assume to pay for medical care you got.

So if he is not paid, and you cashed the check he was suppose to get, ( with his name on it) he will be much quicker in sueing you in court.

but the bank is not suppose to cash it for you, unless it has both people sign.

it depends on how it was wrote out on the pay to the order did it say your name and the docs name or did it say your name or the docs name the and or makes a big diff if it said and between the two names and you only signed your name the bank that cached it made a mistake not you and they will have to contact the doc for a signature

I think you should make another accident, and cash another check, then wait & see !!!! don't call the doctor;;;;

if there was an and between your names, it might come back and be taken from your account. if it had your names but no conjunction or said "or" then you're fine.
