If it hasn't happend after 3 years, it wont happen, well I mean the love. Marrage can take longer to work on but if he does not love, I would give it up.

True love is when you have a "Meeting of Minds" with that special someone.
The best way to describe this feeling is this: you and him feel as if your minds are as one. It is a very special feeling and you've never felt this before with anyone. It is the kind of feeling that makes LOVE unconditional too... which means no matter what that person says or does, you will always love him because you have this connection between you.
This is also known as the soulmate connection.
Now, if you do not feel this, or you think you do and the other person does not, then it is not true love. That is conditional love, based on what your b/f does that makes you feel like a million dollars one day and a bag of poop the next.
Sounds like your b/f is waiting for the next best thing that walks by and he sticks around and is nice because he thinks that there is always a chance for sex with you in the meantime.
I hope he isn't using you. That would break your heart forever.

First of all it depends a lot on your age...if he is too young he is probably just not ready...but let me tell you that I was with my boyfriend for five years, I brought up the subject of mariage and all he would say is " I don't have to marry you to show I love YOu" well turns out he was a cheater and he did marry someone else...so don't ever buy that crap. If someone genuinely loves you and wants to be with you they will ask you to marry them...or even talk about getting married in the future. If he avoids it or says things like "I dont need to marry you, blah blah" then he is just biding his time if you want my opinion. I would recommend approaching the subject with him and seeing his honest opinion. Women are very intuitive..go with that and try to read what it is he is feeling. Good luck. And never wait around for it to happen...because it may never.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 10 years, and aren't married. I have a sneaking suspicion that we never will be legally. But, I don't think he's going anywhere. Things are perfect the way they are. I don't need a piece of paper to tell me we're in love.

If he doesn't want to marry you - he's waiting for a better girl to come along. It's very simple.

It took 6 years for my hubby to actually say "I-love-you"
1 child and another on the way before he even mentioned marriage.
Some men I guess dont feel the need to voice their affections and such.. they just assume the girl knows it.
Men assume too much.
