I have changed her nursing position, b/c I am breastfeeding, I have also changed my diet. I do not want to put her on an OTC medication if I dont have to.

Hi,
My daughter also had GERD. She would spit up so much I was constantly changing her clothes and plastic lined bibs. Her Dr. put her on a special formula for protein sensitivity, and it did not make a bit of difference, then we tried 2 different medications neither worked to stop her from spitting up. She was about 3 months old when it started getting really bad, I started to add some cereal to her bottle to thicken it up and then I would feed her smaller amounts of formula every 2 hours instead of larger amounts every four hours and that seemed to reduce it somewhat. Since you are breast feeding consult with your Dr. about starting her on cereal.
The reflux eventually slowed down at about 8 months, she pretty much grew out of it but even now (she is 13 months old) she still has some reflux. Hang in there and hopefully she will out grow it.
Did your daughter have an MRI to confirm it is GER?

You need to talk to her doctor. Some herbal supplements are not safe for babies or children. My son was on liquid Zantac for his first 6 months for acid reflux due to being born almost 3 months early and he did really well with it.
