Stress focussing on staying power is the most successful way to improve health for the prevention of diseases. In addition, physical fitness and sports can be used as "medication" for sick persons. I am a single mother to a 14 year old boy, Sports have been the BEST thing to happen to him. First, it does keep you active and in shape. But from my perspective, it has made him a more focused, caring, responsible individual. He is praised often by coaches which in turn makes him feel good about himself. He is a leader, smaller children really look up to him, and he is active in the community, Yes, ALL because of sports!
O.K. follow up....He BROKE his wrist yesterday, BUT I still support the sports programs! Go TEAM!
