I enjoyed Steve Irwin immensely and I think his death is a tragedy.
However, I do not think he should have a state funeral.
He would not want one.
I prefer to remember him as the enthusiatic nature lover that he was. A state funeral would reduce him to some boring symbol of conservation, which is not how he deserves to be remembered.

Nope, not really. But if Steve Irwin didn't want it then I will happily sit down and mourn in silence. The wishs of the dead should be honoured.

hi Jeff; confident I do have faith in god. i assume I constantly did however the final 10 years of my life, i'm specific a hundred % specific that there is a God. i assume that could purely come to a individual who fairly, fairly should be attentive to, and that i assume that purely happens once you rather, fairly get bored to death with this worldwide in some techniques or which you consistently run into struggles that are actually not of your guy or woman doing. you be attentive to, in specific cases human beings have issues of their lives, yet you could actual arrive at a end that if that individual purely replaced this or desperate to try this, then there may well be not greater issues. as an occasion; If a individual stopped doing drugs or ingesting, the probability of having extra money may well be better and their probabilities of no longer being on the streets may well be better. a guy or woman that chooses to over consume has greater probabilities of having an ailment, so in the event that they might purely end, then.... the type of undertaking, yet whilst life maintains throwing you into fires which you probably did no longer start up, then after such a lot of years of that, i began out screaming loudly to be certain if there became right into a God that ought to and might help me out up there, and then I have been given to be certain for actual, yet i became right into a desperate guy at that factor.....optimistically human beings might come to their senses much less stressful than I had to...? yet a different confident !

I believe funerals should be private. I know if I was his wife I would not want to turn on the TV for the nexy two weeks just to find the re-run of my husband's funeral.

"Are you pleased" is the wrong expression to use, I think "do you think it appropriate" would be better. He is a national treasure but his and the family's wishes are being held in the highest regard.

There are other ways for the Australian people to mourn their loss through a public gesture/tribute of some kind but a husband/father/etc has died and the family need their private mourning time alone.

im pleased, the family wont be harrassed by the media and have cams shoved in their faces and be surrounded by thousands of unknowns............we can all have a memorial later, let the family mourn in peace.

This has nothing to do with us. It is/was a family decision and I respect what they decide.

I do think the offer was appropriate.

The man's happy wherever his soul is. He died doing what he loved. Knowing that, I am jealous....
