if you mean getting those symbols into yahoo answers, for example, you use the ALT key and the number pad with the number lock on, not the numbers below the function keys. hold down the ALT key and type the numbers. when you then release the ALT key, the symbol appears.

here is ALT 0178: ²
here is ALT 178 : ▓
here is ALT 0179: ³
here is ALT 227 : π
here is ALT 0227: ã

have fun.

For ^2 and ^3, there are Alt+0178 and Alt+0179. Not sure about π, though... Alt+227 is right, as someone else mentioned.

NOTE: Alt+178 is differnet from Alt+0178. Don't get the two mixed up...

in MS Word:

for the pi symbol, go to Insert >> choose Symbol >> scroll down until you see the π symbol

for the "little number" for squared or cubed, go to Format >> choose Font >> under Effects, choose Superscript and type. Your numbers will be smaller...

*It is best to type out the "normal-sized" numbers first and THEN go back and go through the above process...

good luck

Hold down the 'ALT key and type 227 to get π
Use 253 for ²
Use 251 for √
I don't think the cubed is in the standard ASCII extended code.

It is possible. In Word, just go to Insert- Symbol. You can even make a shortcut key if you use symbols a lot. There is a button in the pop up box that allows you to add a shortcut key. Otherwise, check your Microsoft Help guy to get more details.
