If you plan to have four horses with in 4 to 5 years. I would invest in at least a 4 stall barn or 5 stall barn (one for tack room etc).
You could only wind up with two. Either can rent the other two stalls or use them for other things: tack room, feed room etc.
You could also get the two and build on later.
It is all up to you. But, I would personally invest in something just in case so, won't have to worry about it when the time comes. That is me though.

Build as many stalls as you can afford, but if you're planning on having four horses, you need to have four stalls ready to go when your horses arrive.
If you've got the money, I would actually build a six stall (or more) barn. Mostly in case a horse doesn't like their neighbor, or to store tools, tack, hay, shavings, etc.
Depending on the climate you live in, you may also want to bulid a tall over hang (or a lean to type thing) to park your trailer under to keep it out of the elements.

A 4 horse barn of course.Horses need their own space you can't just cramp them together in one space.

Always better to have more stalls than horses. You are planning to get two more, but you might want three. You could always take on a boarder.

Build bigger at the beginning, it's more cost effective in the long run. Be sure and plan for storage of tack, hay, bedding and grain.
