There are several reasons why sound may not be coming out of your speakers. If you are using Windows, the easiest solution is to walk through the help file.
To do this, click on Start, then Help and Support. Type "No Sound" into the box and click "Search". An option "Sound Troubleshooter" should come up. Click on it, and walk through the different options.

Assuming that the spesakers are plugged iln correctly... then go to the TASK bar(the bar--line---row--- that is at the bottom of your screen. Look for the bull horn or the speaker horn.. If you do not see it, there may be a small left pointed arror ... click it and if you have not seen the speaker symbol(icon) before, you will see it now.. so when you see it..run your mouse over it and the word VOLUME will appear... Click on it.. and a small scale will appear with a small square with the word MUTE next to it.. Make sure that there is NO X in the little box next to the MUTE buttom and then make sure that the little box on the scale is slide up at least half way. Hopefully that will give you sound.

I'm no expert but this happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Look at the bottom of yuor screen by the clock and check to make sure your sound is not muted out this way. You may have to unhide your buttons or icons. The volume icon looks like a round speaker. Hope this helps!

Check your sound scheme and properties. Make sure the volume is not turned down low or on mute. If you have speakers that are not built into the computer, make sure all the wires are plugged in properly.
