My "Check Engine" light won't come on.
I can't get IM'd.
Where is a good on-line site with good instructions for taking apart and getting behind my dashboard, which is a considerable job, i guess.

Usually, you can just pull the dash trim off, and then there are a few screws, that hold the gauge assembly in, and disconnect the connectors on the rear of it, and then you should be able to pull it out kind of easily. Then on the back side, you'll see the little lights that are held in with special little knob looking things. Fnd the one that is closest to your check engine light, and test it first to make sure its bad. Other than that, you can try alldatapro.com.. Not sure ig its free though. Good luck.

Not to be rude but if you have to ask this question you should really leave it alone seriously!!! ... an experience person would know how to get it off without needing a manual because they have experience unless you want to break something please don't attempt this yourself find a friend or family member with experience that can help in the long run you'll thank me.

On many cars, the 'check engine' light won't come on when you turn your key to the on position, but will come on when you are cranking the engine. Did you double check to see if it comes on at that point? If so, then it's working fine.

Just use a repair manual, like Chilton's
