Larry Linville is dead, but I get your point.
I think he'd be surprised we elected someone that can't string a sentence together......Especially since when he fell asleep I think James Monroe was President--by anyone's standards a brilliant man.
I think our standards have fallen, but then again the supply of brilliant people to choose from has fallen as well.

I believe Larry Linville is dead. If Rip was modern he would know what is going on. However if the original woke up, the shock of the modern world, could actually kill him or damage his mental state.

It would be much worse if John kerry had been elected. Who the heck is Larry Linville? If I never heard of him, Rip didn't either. I imagine such a comparison is not flattering. If Kerry won, it'd be like having Hubert Humphrey as president...i.e. a moron who tries to tell everyone what he thinks they want to hear and lies badly, so that he fools only fools.
