I recently had to put a new battery in my key remote and then tried to do what the book told me and it does not work, the fuses are ok. Whay else could be wrong or am I doing something wrong?

Try this, unless you already did...

Press and hold both the lock and unlock buttons on the key fob for at least 30 seconds. If the power locks in the car cycle, your done and it should work.

If the battery is good...just because it's new, doesn't mean it's good...and after trying the above procedure it still doesn't work, the fob is most likely dead. You'll have to visit a GM dealer for a new key fob and they can program it too. A Tech II scan tool is required for programming for this model year

If all else fails, check to be sure you put the battery in the remote in the correct direction. Some of those flat, round batteries are easy to get flipped around when putting them in....I should know because I did the same thing to my remote.

There is a code frequency that your keyless entry works on. It could be that the remote is no longer matching the locks. Try calling the local dealership to ask them what else you can do.

It is quite possible that the little circuit board in the key fob might have corrosion on it here and there. Mine experienced that, even though I have a different vehicle. But like #2 answer stated, might have to have the codes reset at the dealer. Hope its not too much. Good luck.
