I am prolife from abortion to war.

The only exception is violent criminals. I do believe in capital punishment, while recognizing the flaws of the poor not getting good representation many times, so it is an unfair system...but these are guilty people while fetuses and war victims are innocent.

Ones choice comes from using birth control, or in exceptional incidences when that isn't possible or fails, considiering adoption.

I was forever changed when one day over 20 years ago, shortly after becoming a new mom, I went to a Christian event and saw 9 aborted fetuses ranging in age from 4 months to 8 months gestation.

They looked just like the baby I just had and loved and the thing that struck me was that they all had blotchy burn marks all over their bodies (all saline abortions) and they ALL had the most awful and terrible grimace of pain on their face...almost haunting.

Driving home, I thought of how this is happening to 4400 unborn children a day just in this country.

I have never been prochoice again. I am one of the 43 percent of prolife democrats.

What about it?
Pro-Life claims to be all for life yet if they were sooo "Pro Life" they wouldn't eat meat (because it comes from the animals and that's life), drink milk, allow hunting, or own a pet (because if an animal has its own life, it should be able to roam free right?) BUT.. really they're just trying to save the lives of unborn fetuses. Which, yes, isn't a bad thing at all but at the same time— Pro-Lifers can be very verbally abusive and obnoxious. Some of them put their nose to far in other peoples personal lives yet when handed the situation of an unwanted pregnancy, they go along and get a secret abortion.

Pro-Choice allows people to have the choice and I think it is a good idea. However, I don't like the "No Parental Consent" laws in some states. I believe that there should always be parental consent for anyone under 18 because sometimes at younger ages we make mistakes that we don't realize are so big until the aftermath and we need our parents help to decide what is really right for us.
In conclusion, everyone has their beliefs.

why must it come down to one versus the other? this is America. at this moment in time abortion is legal, I believe in making your own choices and accepting the consequences. Abortion isn't pretty or easy but neither is raising a child you don't want. even worse can be 18 years down the road the door bell rings --hello you were my birth mom i found you surprise. the decision to have, abort or give up a child is a very personal and difficult decision and each should be allowed to choose for themselves without the religious zealots telling us what we should do.

I'm definitely pro-life, but there are exceptions to everything. And to the user who mentioned adoption... that's really a pro-life choice, I don't see that as "meeting in the middle" but it's definitely a good choice for women who don't want to keep their babies.

As much as I hate the idea that anyone would get an abortion, I think a baby is part of a woman's body until the umbilical cord is cut. As part of her body I think she should be able to make any decisions about it that she feels is right. I think most women know that it is a big decision and think it through before making it. I think self mutilation and suicide should be legal as well. Same argument.
