I know it's king of late to start but i thought it would be fun and something new.Anyway Some my classmates that wrestle..during weigh in they don't eat much and some look really sick. What's the reason for that? i mean i know you got to make weight but is that safe. My friend Mike went almost 3 days without eating. also what kind of training do you do at home and what do you do on the mat? What kind of foods should you eat? What are the weight categorizes for the most part just any kind of information of what you need and do and eat would be helpful..

stay away from carbs that packs the weight on. just eat healthy no candy and fast food. you shouldnt starve your self a whole week. the day before a meet you dont eat or drink to lose the water weight but thats the only time you should stop. the rest should be high protien, lots of fruits and vegatables. and also take a muliti vitamin. most of the training is done on the mat. you do drilling which consists of take downs, for a while then you go onto the mat and work break downs and reversals. then at the end of practice its live wrestling. at home you can run, due push ups and sit ups and shadow wrestle. you can also work on your stand ups and shots.

We eat when ever we want. If we toss our cookies in the ring....so be it. It makes a good show for some....and grosses out others. The rule is if a show has a 7:30 bell time we do not eat after 1 pm. If its 8:00 then we eat nothing after 1:30 pm.
We usually have food out back, but in some cases we grab a burger or a sub or two on our way out of town. The beers are always flowing so some guys are in a mood when they leave, so be careful when they come out from the stage door.
