Mass Genocide?
Five million people have died in Congo due to mass genocide. This is currently happening as we speak. How come the no one is really doing anything about? The world let ten million Jews died in the forties. What's wrong with the government? Have you even heard about it? Why don't they put stuff like this in the news?

The government and media don't report it because it's not in their interest. If there was oil there, it would be all over the news.
Just like Bush saying we went to Iraq because Saddam was such a terrible person and was so bad to the people of his country that we needed to 'free' them and bring them democracy. Why aren't we bringing freedom and democracy to other countries in the world that are suffering so much? They don't have the oil we need, so they are overlooked. It's terrible that our government works this way, but it does.

Genoside happens all the time. in 1907 10 million serbs were killed by the turkishand no one knows anything about it, we did it as a country but couldnt afford the troops or the money due to the naval rase. It is very hard for a country to interferre into another when the people that are being persecuted are in a minority in that place as the majority dont want them there. IT is what the UN was supposed to sort out but with no army negotiations are rubbish and any theats of supply cuts etc only starve those being persecuted. It is a most disgustingly horrible part of human nature but goes on all over and we cannot help everyone so then who has the right to decide whom we do help? To grade lifes worth. We are already at war with Iraq very diffcult to justify starting another one from a millitary point of view. It does not go in the news as no one wants to know. If we are not going to do anything about it the country and its population are happier not knowing about it. Sad but true.

History is full of genocides.
From the Armenians to the Africans ,through religious or racial genocides no one ever bothered.
But you are wrong about the Jews.It is the only case there was a reaction.
We call it WW2.

at first, ten million Jews did no longer die. 2nd of all, twenty million Russians died contained in the Nineteen Forties and no person cares. Do you think of the Congolese have any ability over international affairs. look on the Darfur, look at Somalia. no person cares because of the fact there is not any longer something the Congolese or the Somalians or extraordinarily lots any African communities can do approximately it. Africa has little or no sway over the international, different than Kofi Annan. If this have been going on in Israel, of direction u.s. might take care of it, because of the fact Israeli helps its hobbies contained in the midsection east. yet there is not any longer something that Africa can grant that the international locations with ability won't be able to take, so no person defends them.

Not to mention:

Russia
China
Somalia
Cambodia
Burma (I believe)
North America
South America
etc.

People just don't seem to care. Americans especially seem drawn more to "Entertainment Tonight" than to "Genocide Today"

See the movie "The Constant Gardener"
The powers that be see some as "expendable".
