History is what is reported to have happened, not necessarily exactly what happened. Also, someone once said, "history is written by the victors." That is probably a very true statement.

History is as accurate as the person telling the story. Whatever source the history facts are coming from has to be accurate.'

Unless you were there at the time it happened, I do not think you can say that it is accurate after all it is in the eyes of someone who wrote it down, then that gets passed on to someone else, etc. So if you were to say all history, no. But parts of it are because more people are educated now and more are writing things down.

Nope, well some of its accurate of course. But most of it's been done by guesswork and archeological finds. So basically you could say that half the stuff put in history books is probably just theories. Like dates, how can you have the exact date of history anyway? Point is is that unless you were there how can they -prove- to you that it actually happened? I always loved to throw that at my teacher ^_~

I agree, it depends on the source.

According to a textbook? Yes.

The Internet? Depends on where you go.

The History Channel? Sometimes. Not everything is accurate on that channel.

According to M-TV or similar TV Channel? Heck no!

History is only as accurate as it's source. A respected source is a good guage of how realiable the information is.

Actually read Ishmael and you would understand that most history was edited by our culture meaning the people that live in economized countries. Anyway, it's hard to explain since most people don't notice the buzzing of Mother Culture humming them to sleep to not notice the changes.
