I live in the desert, so I use both. I put baby oil on when I am just out of the shower and still wet. Then I towel dry it off. This allows the moisture to soak in and not keep you 'oily' feeling. Then after I am dry, I use body butter on dry spots.... legs and arms usually.

Body butter is much better do to the fact it has Vaseline as a base
