HI as in Hawaii? And you live in Hawaii? How old is your child? If your child is still a minor, your ex needs your consent to move out of state because it affects your visitation, unless you don't have any visitation rights. Also, if you're worried that her cost of living has decreased by moving (which is probably the case, the cost of living in Hawaii is one of the highest in the nation) and you want to decrease your child support, get a lawyer ASAP.

Welcome to hell.
It's all ultimately open for debate.
By not getting this s*** figured out between the two of you, you've just handed over the welfare of your child to a complete stranger and and equally incompetent group of social work hambuger helpers, not to mention throwing away perfectly good money that could have been used to give your kid the best you could afford.
Hey, but look on the bright side: the lawyers kids are WILL benefit from your hard earned cash, so it's not a total loss. Somebody wins, it's just not you or your family.
Nice work, and welcome to the US!!!

What i would do is call a lawyer and ask him. They would know. As far as i know child support is supposed to be taken out of the state that the child lives in.

If the states were refersed i would say no. Laws change from state to state in this type of matter. You will have to consult your custody agreement and the laws of your state to see if she is a dead beat parent or in violation of the custody agreement. She may be both.

As long as she is not getting government assistance from Hawaii, and she isn't breaking any court orders, she is fine.
