Well lets see, my first modem was a 300 baud, and the fastest one at that time was a 1200 baud, 300 baud cost a hundred, and the 1200 was a little over 350.00,

Am guessing but I think was about 1983.

I started when the screen was still in black and white...we dialed into Bulletin Boards, then I found out about Prodigy, and was amazed at seeing color pictures online! What a life changing experience it has become! I believe it was about 1993.

Replaced my 286 with a new Acer Desk Top
100 MHz Processor - 4M RAM - 20M Hard Drive = $2400.00
It had a 14.4K modem...
17" Sony Triniton Monitor = $900.00 (I'm still using the monitor on my backup pc)
300 dpi Laser Printer = $450.00

Can you believe $3750.00 for that dinosaur!!!
