Lee Corso was not a good coach and most of what he predicts is either obvious or wrong. Dick Vitale was also a poor coach. Vitale claims to be this great advocate for college athletics but he charges a ton of money (around 20-30K per speaking engagement) to come and speak to college athletes. He rarely does anything for free, and he's so biased towards the ACC, he should wear a condom when doing Duke games.
Vitale copied a lot from Al McGuire who used to announce with Dick Enberg. McGuire knew more about basketball in his pinkie than Vitale. McGuire also won a national championship coaching with Marquette. That year he actually allowed the players to pick the style of uniforms themselves and they were wild and the most popular thing for 3 years. McGuire danced with fans, yelled cheers and was so natural doing it. A total character.
Corso and Vitale are kind of phony to me and they copied EVERYTHING from Al McGuire. Both of these guys are what some mindless fans like and are products of the ESPN age. Not getting either one of these guys at all.

Lee Corso, Dick Vitale needs to permanently loose his voice. I mute him when he's commentating, to keep from punching a whole in the T.V.

They're both very animated, but they try too hard to be funny, and they're too old. The Sportscenter anchors (John Anderson, Scott Van Pelt, Stuart Scott, Steve Levy, etc) are infinately more funny than Corso and Vitale.

I can't stand either one of them. Sports commentators irritate the bejeezus out of me. They should spend more time calling the game, and less time being sports announcers.
I much prefer announcers that have been there and done that. For instance, Fox Sports has a crew to call the races for NASCAR, and includes a driver that is a three time Champion, and two crew chiefs that were both champions. Almost everyone on the broadcast has been involved with racing at some point in their lives. They know more than just the statistics, and when someone is playing dirty, they call a spade a spade. I'm not saying that they are perfect, but they are much better than the usual.
For football, I would much rather have a fan, of the game, in general, of one of the teams, in particular, than some pencil neck statistician that enjoys watching football.

Are you insane? Asking which one of these two fossils is better is like asking which way you'd rather die. Lee Corso is a senile hack with two catch prhases. Dick Vitale is a senile hack with one catch phrase.
