Not necessarily. Did you know you generally score a higher IQ each time you take an IQ test. So they don't really test intelligence. I've had IQ tests for jobs and have scored between 120 and 145. My 'resting' IQ is 129. But it's a bit like a car engine - it's what you do with the power that counts, not what you've got under the bonnet!

The only problem with IQ tests is that like most tests, only the first result should count. If you complete many IQ tests you actually become aware of how the test works and often get an inflated test score.

If you live in Britain have a go a that Test the Nation with Anne Robinson and Phil Scofield, if you keep your results over the number of times they run this show you will find they increase, not because you have become more intelligent, but because you have learnt how to take the test.

I don't know about those; sometimes I think the results are highly arbitrary. I've scored as low as 117 and as high as 146. If you really want to know your IQ you can buy a book from the bookstore that has tests. Or you can sign up to take an IQ test at Mensa, but that costs some money.

not saying that youre not that smart, but no they dont mean much at all.

But if you can score that high on an internet IQ test, then youre above average in intelligence at least...congrats.

I've done a few IQ tests aswell as the one they had onthe BBC, but they don't say the exact same thing but they are always close and say pretty much the same thing. I am above average on the intelligence scale, and all i know is I know more than most people I know.
They are trust worthy to apoint.

No. You shouldn't. Take a real IQ test. The ones on the internet are made to be easy.

No. Almost all of them are not normed properly, do not ask real IQ test questions and inflate scores.

However, http://www.iqtest.dk/main.swf you can trust. It is normed properly, is based on the real IQ test 'ravens advanced progressive matrices' and can measure IQ's properly up to 145.

I would say the actual test would be more accurate, however, this test will test close to your actual score unless you near the ceiling.

My son sat the Mensa test and years later, did the online test and both times scored 129.

I scored 127... but did better on the EQ test, which, is apparently more sought after by employers nowadays. I got in the top 2 percent, with 132... and in further tests, discovered that my male female ratio is even, as both sides of my brain work together, as opposed to one 'dominant side' most people have. Whatever that is worth!

The only difference was, that Mensa demands the presence of a monitor, who uses a stop watch, and brings the sealed test papers with her/him.

And it is said that the IQ never changes throughout life.
