In California, you can take the bar and become a lawyer without having attended law school.

In Louisiana, you must be a graduate of an accredited Law School.

Yes . . .if you do a special clerkship. But it is, in reality, never done. So pretty much, everyone who sits for the BAR has gone to law school.
