Internet has become part of our life.... but when did you first start using it?

I was using an ARPANET computer as a child in a college lab back in the 70s but I just watched the tech guys show off how they could type across the country and played with some of the experimental educational programs. I think the first time I actually used the internet was in high school in the 80s. It was awful back then. Everything had to be just perfect and there were no search engines. The first time I was able to really get online and do anything at all useful by myself was about 1990.

I bought my computer 1 1/2 yrs ago and just fiddled with it a little. The last few months I have really learned more and enjoy it better. I had to use one for jobs before but just did what I had to do to complete the jobs and never ventured out into the internet! I am 54 and this old dog is learning new tricks!

I could not remember when I started using the Internet. All I remembered was when AOL started mailing those floppy disks to customers and offered 10 free hours, I have been using the Internet ever since.

it was developed in February 1958 when the USSR launched the Sputnik. US needed to stay ahead of the Cold War so the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency created a linking system that links all the radars in NATO. THAT WAS WHEN I FIRST USED IT, I AM NOW 73

I started at the age of six. At seven, I got an adult acount on AOL (I started with teen, Kids has too many restricts). At eight, we swiched to Mediacom, so I can have acess to all of the sites in the world! Now I am 10 and I use Yahoo! for a lot of stuff.
