8.6 kg = 8600 g = 8600000 mg

There have been lots of unit conversion problems tonight. To convert 220 mm to meters, you have to move the decimal 3 places because 1000 mm is the same as 1 meter. But do you move it left or right? If the unit is getting larger, the digits need to get smaller to keep the same value. If you have 6 dollars, that's the same as 600 pennies, right?

So to convert 220 mm to meters you have to move the decimal 3 places to the left: 220 mm = 0.22 meters.

If you understand what I tried to explain, the rest should be easy.
