If you were going to buy a new dishwasher, and money, was not an issue, what would you buy? I need a new one!?

KitchenAid stainless steel the best, worth the $ and if you should need service it won't be hard to find a sevicer or parts......KitchenAid also has the dish drawer made by F&P but not to many happy with the dish drawer.

The best dishwasher I had was a Kitchenaid. I'm sure there are more sophisticated ones, but that machine was still operational after 3 years, still cleaning beautifully when I sold it with the house. All the others I have had have been difficult to load, or required repairmen.

Go to the library and look up the ratings on dishwashers in Consumers Report. It will take a little time but the ratings are worth it. You might as well get one that is worth the money you spend.

Personally, it is not the brand that would make the difference to me. I would take a top section off my stove and make sure it fits in the new dishwasher, so that it could be washed in the dishwasher. It is a tiny bit too small for the old (broken) one.

I would buy the Fisher and Paykel 2 drawer model. They run about $1,400 - but they look great and I like the idea of the drawers - it's like having two dishwashers.

A stainless steel Kitchen Aid for sure, the dishes come out sparkling, but the real reason is that it is so quiet, you really cannot tell it is running, no kidding!

Go to www.consumerreports.org and see what they recommend. You can't go wrong if you always check with them before you purchase anything. It costs $4.95 to use the site for 30 days or $26.00 for a year. Well worth the cost.
