go somewhere my yourself and scream or beat up a pillow. leave the person alone until they are done ranting and raving. when they have cooled down, ask if they would like to talk about the problem that upset them. if they say no,just go on to another subject, or maybe take a walk with or without them.

Get away from the person with a bad temper, if you are the one with anger management issues try an anger management course.

I work with a woman who has a nasty attitude about random stuff. What I do is walk away until she becomes "normal" again. Sometimes, people need their space in order to collect themselves. I know I do.
