A “Pinko Commie” is a derogatory label. It is the way of the far right fascists throughout history to use convenient attacks to discredit their opposition. The same was true of American fascists like J. Edgar Hoover and Joseph McCarthy, although McCarthy and Hoover used a much cuter rendition, calling their opponents "Pinko-Commies."

The word 'pinko' likely has its origins in the relations between the colors white and red. Since pink is a lighter shade of red, the color most associated with communism, pink could be thought of as a "lighter form of communism" practiced by mere supporters of Marxism or socialism as opposed to card-carrying communists.

The rest of the Democrats are just pinkos....

a pinko is I believe, a derogatory term used to label communists but with a implication that they are deviant or gay as is seen by their critics.
