The S Type is more 'Jaguar' than the X Type which is just a posh Mondeo.

in case you like a greater sturdy Jaguar greater often than no longer, then you certainly could get a sort no later than 1990 whilst Ford bought Jaguar and Land Rover. The X-sort is made to compete with the BMW 3-sequence, the Infinity G35, and the Mercedes C-classification. you're better off getting a three sequence once you're watching this sort. The X-sort is the get entry to point vehicle for Jaguar...and $10k greater fee effective or so than the S-classification The S-sort is Jaguar's oldest line and an exceedingly subtle, middle to older classification driving force centred vehicle. Its opposition are the Audi A6, BMW 5 sequence, Mercedes E classification, and Lexus GS sedans. in case you could have adequate money greater vehicle, the S classification is a thank you to pass, yet once you're leaning in direction of the X-sort, i might propose you check out opposition like the three sequence BMW. on the tip of the day bear in techniques which you're procuring a Ford motor vehicle alongside with ford maintenance and Jaguar expenses : ) so some distance as what twelve months to purchase, i might propose the vehicle be a minimum of two years old the place it has lost maximum of its fee, yet won't depreciate too lots greater for the subsequent couple of years. don't get too lots older than that extraordinarily with the X-sort because of the fact it had a lot of subject concerns whilst became into first being rolled out.

A lot.
In fact there's very little in common between them.

The X-Type is a competitor for the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It shares some of its platform architecture with the Ford Mondeo, and has transversely-mounted 4-cylinder in-line or V6 engines, driving front or four wheels.

The S-Type is larger, competing against the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class and CLS-Class. It originally shared some of its platform architecture with the Lincoln LS, but has been substantially revised since, and now uses similar rear suspension to the latest Jaguar XJ. It has longitudinally-mounted V6 and V8 engines driving the rear wheels.

they are considerably different. The x type is a 30,000+ car and the S is a 40,000+ car. The platform of the x is the same as the ford Taurus and share more than 30% of their parts. The S is a completely different platform. The drives are completely different too..The x drives like a ford while the S drives like a luxury vehicle. The grilles of the x are longer and thin while the S has a roundish grill. The size of the S is much bigger and more comfortable for anyone over 5'8" tall. Engines, suspension and transmissions all much better in the S. If you can swing the extra cash, the S is a much better buy.

Look at the nose of the car? Of course then there is size difference, and engine choices. Good luck.
