You can also make pompoms and tassels, twisted or braided cords, and do that crazy 70s string art that involves nails and a corkboard.
And you can make a dreamcatcher,which a friend of mine loved to make for her rooms.

If you are using yarn:
You could knit something.
You could glue the yarn to a frame in a pretty pattern
You could make a "Gods Eye"
You could weave something
You could make tassles for a window treatment, fan pull, or blanket
Just a few ideas I could think of off the top of my head. I'll add more if I think of any. Good luck

Since you have time on your hands why dont you make a very large spider wed...I had mines hanging from the ceiling and then I put one in the corner behind the door...hey I was a teenager then.The one hanging from the ceiling I put all kind of items in it.

I started crocheting afghans when I was your age- but that takes a lot of yarn and is time consuming. And yes, god's-eyes are good.
