Is one considered more prestigious than the other, or is one more competitive? They obviously are held at different times at different venues (Oklahoma City vs Columbus, Ohio) but to the competitor, stallion owner, or trainer, what do the differences boil down to?

The All American Quarter Horse Congress is open to any registered Quarter Horse, so long as the owner can pay the entry fees.

Congress is larger (it's the largest horse show in the world) and runs longer than any of the three World Shows (Youth, Select, and Worlds). Congress also features more events and have divisions for Youth (all age divisions), Novice Amateur, Novice Youth, Open, Amateur, Select, and the NYATT classes, plus Snaffle Bit classes and more.

Congress runs from (usually) the first weekend of October till three weeks later (the dates depend on the year. There also events like a pro-rodeo (in the past), Stallion Avenue, the Super Sale, and the shopping.

World Show, by comparison, is smaller and you have to qualify to compete. World Show (Amateur and Open) is in November and offers only a handful of classes compared to Congress. Youth World is in August in Texas, and Select Worlds is a few weeks later (and I believe that's in Oklahoma).

Winning at the World Show generally has more prestige than winning Congress, mostly because you're competing against a (generally) higher class of horse. I say higher quality only because they have earn enough points to compete.

Worlds has lower entry fees compared to Congress, but it takes more money to qualify for the world shows.

What I've heard is that Worlds is more prestigious, but Congress is more competitive. However, I think they're both prestigious and super competitive.

it rather is incredibly real. AQHA has a tendency to prefer their horses to have a low headset as adversarial to an open coach circuit. i've got consistently executed the open circuits and the judges rather like a horse that has a advantageous stretched out neck (yet no longer a low headset) with their nostril fairly tucked with a advantageous forward circulate from the haunches (greater than a number of motor). AQHA additionally likes motor, yet they want the headset be low like I reported in the previous--it incredibly is the biggest distinction minus faux tails, saddle pads, etc... there are various little information in any circuit that's why i think of a coach is a clever investment, so while you're thinking of the two, you're able to desire to to ascertain what running shoes are on your area. chuffed using!

World championships are way cool, however, you compete against some of the same horses at Congress.. Placing at either is a tremendous honor,,, But I vote for the World.
